Eagles can't keep pace with Monticello's bats


Barneveld and Monticello were tied at 3 after three innings, but the Ponies outscored the Eagles 7-2 the rest of the way for a 10-5 Six Rivers win Tuesday.
Matthew Fahey drove in two runs for the Eagles in the first when he singled.
Fahey singled and scored in the third.
Caleb Behnke and Seth Sullivan both singled and scored in the sixth, but that was all for the Eagles.
Monticello plated two in the fourth and five in the fifth.
Trey Laube and Fahey both collected two hits for Barneveld. Josh Slaney, Gage Schult, Behnke and Sullivan had the rest of their eight hits.
Sam Shatrawka started on the mound for Barneveld. He went 3 2/3 innings striking out four, walking three and allowing five runs (two earned) on six hits.
Laube went one frame with a strikeout and walk. He gave up five runs and five hits.
Seth Sullivan finished going 1 1/3. He allowed one hit and no runs while striking out two with one free pass.
Travis McCoy worked six frames for Monticello allowing five runs (4 earned) on eight hits. He struck out a pair and walked two.
Kollin Klitzke finshed with one strikeout, allowing no hits.
He was also 2x4 with two rbi.
