Grilled Cheese Championship that is being held at Harris Park starting at 11
a.m. The event is FREE, so you can go all day and not spend a cent - but we
hope you do spend something. The competitors make their specialties for
VIP ticket holders (sold out) after they compete. There will be cheese specialty
food vendors plus a good group of other vendors people can buy from
or just browse around them.
There should be a good spill over to the rest of the area from the Grilled
Cheese event. Motels are busy and so are a lot of the stores!

It is with disappointment that the Dodgeville Area Chamber of Commerce
is cancelling the Brews 2 Choose Tour due to lack of ticket sales. We ask the
community to focus the WI Grilled Cheese Championship and volunteer,
whether it is for one shift or two, or to help set up or clean up and be a part
of making the competition a successful event. We look forward to seeing you
on Saturday!

Last Saturday Harris Park was packed with Archery competitors from all
over the area. The morning it was jam packed at Harris. The youngsters competing
seemed to have a great time. Boy, I watched some of them shoot. There
were a lot of bullseyes and near-bullseyes when I was watching!

Saturday I had a chance to stop at Crystal Slaney's Grand Opening of
Eventfuls in downtown Dodgeville. She is open to the public only one day a
week mostly, but is available 24/7 for assistance. She plans weddings, but
also fundraisers, graduation parties, business meetings, company parties and
much more. She told me this past weekend was her only time to have the
Open House until around Thanksgiving as she is booked! You can see Crystal
in the above photo (left) working with a couple of clients during her open
house.

Saturday night is Dodgeville's prom. It should be a busy day all around
with the Grilled Cheese Championship taking place too!

A stop at the Red Rooster Cafe in Mineral Point is in order. During the
month of April they are celebrating 45 years of service to the area. They have
a 1970's priced item everyday the rest of April!

It's about the time the annual plant sales will begin in the area. Check out
the businesses and also the paper for different clubs and schools who will be
featuring spring plants!
