Broadband capability has been added to the business district on the northeast part of the City. Thanks to Wisconsin grant funding which John Dunbar and MHTelecom initiated, and their financial partnership with the City, along with letters of support from businesses, individuals and the Township of Dodgeville, this venture was successful. Broadband is critically important for the recruitment of businesses and light industry.
This year, Dodgeville will begin the process of updating its Comprehensive Plan for Economic Development, contracting with Southwestern Wisconsin Regional Planning Commission (SWWRPC) to accomplish this. SWWRPC plans to contact residents in the City to attend meetings to gain input. This plan will assist the City Council and Mayor in direction for recruitment of retail business and light industry within the City in the future.
The Community Development Committee is a committee of the Dodgeville City Council. Members include Bill Wall, Chair; Mayor Todd Novak; John Dunbar; Terry Edwards; Jim Blabaum; Lynn Price and Phyllis Fritsch.
