Improved line play helps Stanek guide Dodgers

Dodgeville quarterback Houston Stanek ran for two touchdowns and threw for one in a 28-0 win over Onalaska Luther and he had a little help from his friends.
Those friends would be those players in the trenches who help make the offense roll.
"Our offensive line is consistently reducing mistakes and have been a critical piece to our defense not having to spend extra time of the field," Dodgeville coach Ryan Bohnsack said.
The line helped Stanek, protecting him on a 65 yard scoring pass to Josh Shepler that got the Dodgers going for their first touchdown then opening up the holes for his two scoring runs of 15 yards in the first quarter and 31 in the third.
The line also sprung Zack Weber who got loose for a 25 yard scamper in the second quarter.
Tanner Bockhop toed the ball for four extra points.
Tackle leaders were: Logan U'Ren with 8
"It was a great team effort from those in the game and everyone on the sidelines," Bohnsack said. "Friday night everyone contributed in keeping Luther out of the end zone."
Next up is a road trip Friday to Black River Falls, a 125 mile trip that will take over two hours. The game will be Dodgeville's last non-conference encounter before starting SWC play.
"We look forward to everyone's support Friday in Black River Falls," said Bohnsack. "They will be a challenging opponent before we enter conference play the following week."
Tackle leader was Logan U'Ren with eight. Zack Weber, Jack Hellman and Gage Lehman each had seven
