Mineral Point volleyball coach Nicole Henke would like to have seen her team win the rubber match with Cuba City Thursday but it wasn't to be.
A strong game at the net by the Cubans and some calls the Pointers were not used to having called against them ended with the Cubans winning the WIAA D3 Regional semi-final in a three game sweep.
A kill by senior Delaney Smith tied the first set at 24 but the next two points ended on Cuba City's side of the net with the match point coming on a return error by the Pointers. That gave the first set to the Cubans, 26-24.
