I was at the local Walmart and received (probably) the surprize of my life
the other day. I actually got a hug from a Crubaugh. Actually it was Tia, who
probably is still too young to know that is a NO NO!

Saturday was "Small Business Saturday". From what I could find out the
businesses in Dodgeville were pretty busy. There was a FREE movie at the
Dodge Theatre (see above photo of Santa learning a new dance move with
Mrs. Claus laughing) that had about 1/2 the number of attendees as last year,
but it still was a pretty good attendance. Kids got to greet Santa and Mrs.
Claus after the movie. You should've seen the looks on some of their faces
when they came out of the theatre proper and there the two sat! From 1-2:30
at Cobblestone Coffee House, just down the street from the theatre, a bunch
of youngsters (and even some a little older) had their photos taken with Santa
and Mrs. Claus. The Christmas duo (Santa and Mrs. Claus) will be at Cobblestone
again on Sunday, December 11 from 1-2:30 for photos. All proceeds
go to the Iowa County Food Pantry - whether it's $1 for a photo or a food
item!

Our cousin Jeanette - from Atlanta - will be here for a week or so starting
on December 27th. She has quite a few friends and relatives in the area as
she attended UW-Platteville. Also, her husband (Jack Marty) is from Darlington
originally and there will be a "Marty Christmas Party" outside of Darlington
during the holidays.

Sunday, a big group of the Reilly family, were at niece Kelly Keene's home
in Waunakee for a cookie baking party. That's a great thing for the youngsters.
I am glad that Pat and I got there after the cookies were made however. It
was fun sampling them. It wouldn't have been as much fun having me bake
them!

The UW Badgers football team is rolling right along and getting ready for
the Big 10 championship game against Penn State Saturday. A win there will
put a huge feather in their caps and put the "final four" in some quandary!

The UW Badgers basketball team and "local" coach Greg Gard is playing
pretty well. They still have some "playing together" a little more that has to
happen for them to reach their potential.
