The Dodgeville Area Chamber of Commerce, with help from the
Dodgeville Chronicle, spearheads "Small Business Saturday." It's with a hope
that a lot of business stays right here in Dodgeville, but just as important,
stays in the nearby small cities, towns and villages too! Money spent in these
areas stay in these areas and gets spent over and over again by the business
owners and employees!

Our Saturday breakfast stop took us to Karla's Kitchen in Lancaster. It's a
very good place to eat and the people are really friendly. We had a young
waitress who (as usual) we gave a rough time to. She could dish it right back
and did! That's what makes going to different places a lot of fun. The "unfortunate"
thing was that former Dodgeville grad Paul Thuli met up with us
as he and wife Myrna live in Lancaster. I am really kiddding about the "unfortunate"
part!

What a change in the weather from Friday (67 degrees, to Saturday - a 40
degree drop in temperature and winds that felt like 40 MPH!) Sunday stayed
about the same temperature, but the winds went away and the sun came out.
I don't mind the colder weather, but those huge drops in temperature take a
longer time to get used to! But, we didn't have more than a few flakes of
snow when up in northern Minnesota they had about a foot. Former Iowa
County Administrator Curt Kepart is a Minnesotaian - he can have and deserves
that snow!

This Thursday is Thanksgiving. It's a time to give THANKS for all we have
in this great country! Myself, I'm just happy to be an American and live in
Wisconsin! I have (what I feel is) a pretty good life and family (including
Pat's) that I'm very proud of!

There will be a lot of Christmas events going on in the area communities.
Stay in touch with a lot of them by reading the Dodgeville Chronicle each
