Along the Ad Routes

thought I'd seen it all with the Breast Implants, Rewards from every imaginable
store possible, Alaskan Cruises and whatever more. But recently I've
been getting notes about a facebook app Dating Service. So now all I have
to do is hit that button and Wha La there's a date for me! I don't think so!

I ran around taking photos of activities Sunday at Dodgeville's 1st "Love
Dodgeville" campaign. There must've been nearly 50 people out doing things
to help better Dodgeville. They cleaned up the walking/biking trail between
Dodgeville and Mineral Point. They cut trees, raked and picked up twigs,
brush and limbs at the high school arboretum. They cleaned and painted the
teacher's lounge at the high school. They helped sort clothing and items at
the "We Care" storage shed. Myself, I would've taken the lounge at the high
school as to where to work. It was warm inside the school! Check out the
above photo at the arboretum.

Last week on Wednesday must've been "I don't care where I'm walking
day"! I was delivering newspapers to vendors in Dodgeville and two times a
person walked right out in front of me and never looked my way at all. No it
wasn't crossing the main street like I do sometimes, both times that happened
in a parking lot! Then the same thing happened that day when I was delivering
papers to the west. That time it was crossing the street though. You'd
think people would at least look up before they'd walk out!

Talking about crossing the street - I can't tell you how many times a driver
will stop for me (and other people) who are trying to cross in the middle of
the street (J-Walk)! That is extremely courteous, but not a law like at intersections.
It really does help when me, or someone else, who could be carrying
packages though!

Even though the weather hasn't been cooperating, it is planting season. We
are supposed to get a break in the weather this week with the weekend temperature
nearing 80 degrees. That will be a welcome change in what we have
been having this spring! Area greenhouses are up and running for the planting
season too.

After this week's issues of the paper(s) come out there are only six scheduled
softball and baseball games to be played, but they come on or before
May 20. Then tournaments begin. And graduation finds Highland is the first
in our coverage area - on Saturday, May 21.

Sunday is Mother's Day. Our mother passed away well over 10 years ago,
but she is still remembered on this day (as well as every day)! Mother's are
very special to all youngsters during their growing up period (that never ends)
no matter what their age!
