Olson's rbi gives Knights ninth win

With the lead and potential winning run 90 feet away in the eighth inning of a game tied 3-3, who you gonna call?
Ghostbusters?
No, how about giving a shout out for Jordan Olson?
That worked for the Dodgeville Knights Sunday as they picked up their ninth win of the season when the recent Dodgeville High School graduate sent the first pitch he saw from Argyle reliever Ryan Erickson through the gap between first and second to score fellow 2016 graduate Jordan Larson. The rbi broke a 3-3 tie and gave the Knights the lead heading into inning number nine.
Larson had walked to start the inning on a 3-1 pitch. Ian Streeter put down a sacrifice bunt that moved Larson to second and he took third on an infield out. With two outs, Olson delivered.
That set the stage for Danny Sullivan to do what he does best...close out the game. With a dozen fastballs that proved to be too much for the first three batters in the Argyle Beavers lineup, he struck out the side.
Argyle took a 2-0 lead as centerfielder Lance Rossing singled in Tyler Henneman in the second and Tyler Malcook took a pitch over the fence in right center in the third.
The Knights came back with three in the fifth. Tanner Solberg and Jay Lindner both walked then another free pass to Trent Jones loaded the bases. Danny Sullivan waited out the Argyle pitcher for a walk to send in Solberg then Jordan Larson singled in Lindner and Sullivan for a 3-2 lead.
Argyle took advantage of an error, a sac bunt and a single to put runners on first and third. The base umpire called a balk on a double steal which let in the tieing run.
But Olson got the lead back for the Knights and Sullivan fanned the side for what proved to be the win.
Olson was 2x4 for the Knights with Lindner and Jordan Larson getting one hit each.
Jordan Larson went the first five innings, giving up two runs and four hits. He walked three and struck out five.
Bill Hellmann went 2 1/3, giving up an unearned run on one hit. He fanned one.
Sullivan then faced six batters in 1 2/3. He struck out four.
The Knights (9-6) wrap up the regular season in the Western Section Friday when they host Verona at 7:30 p.m. They will have a berth in the post season play-offs which start August 6.
They have three more Night League games, two of them on the road. The Knights host Black Earth tonight then head to Mazomanie August 1 and then travel to Richland Center the following week.
