Dodgers roll over Hornets

Dodgeville boys basketball coach Matt McGraw said he likes to see players contribute on a high level when they are given the chance.
He was talking about his bench players and their contributions during a 72-52 SWC win over Richland Center Thursday night.
His starters got the lead up to 30 points and McGraw pretty much emptied his bench from the 7:50 mark on in the second half, sprinkling a few starters back in at times.
Trent Jones hit 15 of his game high 22 points in the first half as the Dodgers held a 38-18 lead at the midway point.
They trailed 7-4 early in the game and the Hornets pulled to within six at 20-14 before the Dodgers' final run before intermission.
In all 10 Dodgers scored with all 13 getting significant playing time.
Jordan Larson finished with 10 points to be the other player in double figures. Josh Shepler and Isaac Nagel both hit 9 and Bryce Prochaska 8.
Richland Center was led by sophomore Reighly Schultz with 13 points while senior Noah Johnson added 11 and sophomore Devon Schmitz hit 10.
"We had some good minutes off the bench," McGraw said. "There were especially some nice feeds. When we needed to we made the extra pass for an even better look than we had."
He said the coaches challenged reserve guard Josh Shepler to be more of an offensive threat and he responded with his 9 points.
"We played well against their zone," McGraw pointed out. "We were patient and moved the ball around well."
