RV, Dodgers, I-G/H do well at Bi-State

River Valley finished third in Dvision 2 with Dodgeville 13th and Iowa-Grant/Highland took 7th in D3 at the two day Bi-State Wrestling Tournament held in La Crosse.
River Valleys Elijah Alt won the title at 160 while Dodger Brady Wetter was the 220 lb. champion.
Wetter also received the award for the most pins in the least amount of time.
Team winners by division were: Hudson (D1), Ellsworth (D2) and Stratford (D3).
Dodger Payton Calvert was his team's only other wrestler to make it to the second day. He finished 11th at 285.
"Brady Wetter returned from shoulder injury in dramatic fashion and became the first Dodger Wrestler to capture a Bi-State title in eight years," said Doder coach Ryan Lord. "His championship match was a showdown with number two-ranked Traiten Gorr of Monroe with Brady winning by fall in 2:35. Brady also won the most falls in the least amount of time award by pinning 5 out of his six opponents in a combined time of 4:55."
He added, "Payton Calvert also had a good tournament by pinning 3 opponents on his way to an 11th place finish. We were hopeful that we would have more place-winners, but it is an extremely tough tournament and sometimes you just face difficult match-ups. It's a great tournament to assess where you are at a relatively early point of the season and determine things that we may need to work on."
The next week will also be a challenge for the Dodgers with a very tough Sauk Prairie Invitational on Saturday and a tough dual at Prairie du Chien on Tuesday.
