Farewell

By Kayla Barnes-kbarnes@thedodgevillechronicle.com

'So long, farewell, Auf Wiedersehen, good night'. Everyone knows those lyrics are to the Sound of Music's song, So Long, Farewell and those are the words I say now as I will be leaving the Dodgeville Chronicle to go onto my next adventure as the editor at the Republican Journal in Darlington.
It is bitter sweet leaving here for this was my first job in my field. I graduated from UW-Platteville with an English degree, hoping to get into some type of writing. Pat and Mike gave me a chance with no real experience at all and I will forever be grateful for that.
Now a days it is hard to get a job without experience. Employers want you to have experience but you can't get experience if they don't give you the job. It is a round and round processes that someone somewhere has to give in. I am just happy that I got to have my experience here at the Dodgeville Chronicle.
I have learned a lot and met so many new people. I will never forget the kindness and patience that was shown to me by my co-workers and many others I met along the way. I can't wait to start my new job and hope to create as great relationships there as I did here.
