River Ridge no match for Pointers

Mineral Point held River Ridge to just 10 points in the first half enroute to a 53-34 non-conference boys basketball win Monday night.
All 10 players that were suited up for the Pointers either figured in the scoring, hauled down rebounds or were at the free throw line.
Jack Warrick, at 6'5", towered over the Timberwolves and scored a game-high 20 points with 10 coming in each half.
Six of the eight River Ridge players scored as Preston Clark hit 13 and Ben Ertz 10 to lead them. Ertz had all of his in the second half.
"I can honestly say all 10 guys contributed in a positive way tonight," said Mineral Point coach Dan Burreson. "Jack Warrick led the way with 20 and they guys did a nice job of finding him inside."
He added about his other individuals, "Dylan MacGilvra led us with 6 assist and Lance Steffes added 4. Jake Gorgen and Brant James were both able to knock down shots from long distance. Nate Eisenzimmer and Logan Bidlingmaier gave us some quality minutes off of the bench. Dane Pfaff and Chance Wendhausen did a nice job on the defensive end. Mason Dailey played well in his first varsity action."
"Guys have responded well all year and have hung together. It was a fitting way for the seniors to go out on senior night," Burreson pointed out.
He concluded saying, "We have a tough challenge ahead at Iowa-Grant on Thursday night. We travel to Richland Center for a make-up game on Saturday afternoon and then open tournament play at home on Tuesday against Palmyra-Eagle."
