Strong 2nd half boosts Dodgers

If Dodgeville's boys basketball team has any shot of claiming the top spot of the SWC they have to beat the team in front of them Thursday night. That's when conference unbeaten Prairie du Chien comes to town.
"That is definitely a big game for us." said Dodger coach Matt McGraw.
Friday night the Dodgers found themselves in unfamiliar territory as they made more free throws than field goals at Richland Center.
The good news is they hit 24 of 35 from the line and survived in the SWC contest 66-53. They trailed 30-26 at halftime.
Trent Jones led four Dodgers, who hit in double figures, with 14 points. He put in 10 of 14 from the line.
Jordan Larson was next with 13 while Jordan Olson nailed four three pointers and finished with 12. Bryce Prochaska was the fourth in double digits with 10. Prochaska had eight in the second half while Larson hit 11 at that same time.
Then they had nine from
Isaac Nagel and eight from Houston Stanek.
"We had very balanced scoring with four in double figures and were only three points away from having six," McGraw pointed out.
"Jordan Olson had another good shooting night. He's hitting the open shot," he added.
"The game was a grinder," McGraw said. "Center took us out of our flow early. They played us physical and were getting the loose balls in the first half. We got those loose balls in the second half and when that started, that's when good things were happening."
The Hornets were led in scoring by Devon Schmitz with 18 points with Hunter Wilson adding 11.
