Dodger girls get past Iowa-Grant
The Panthers trailed just 30-25 at halftime before finally yielding 61-48.
Dodger Kara Crowley led all scorers with 22 points with 12 coming in the second half.
Megan Pluemer hit 13 points while Hannah Jones added 12.
In all, eight players scored for Dodgeville.
"This is probably the first time we have had eight with points in our book," said Dodgeville coach Mark Dooley. "Alicia Benson got her first point when she was fouled on a nice pass underneath from Hannah. Then she made one of two freethrows."
"Give iowa-Grant all the credit. The3y got us to single digits several times, but give our girls credeit we responded each time," he added. I felt did a better job boxing out in the second half. Alexis Bauer, MeganPluemer, Kara Crowley and Ellie Argall handled the boards and gave us extra shots."
The coach also saide that Casarra Carey made several nice passes and Brooke Rhyner gave them some good minutes.
Iowa-Grant was led offensively by Emma Liddicoat and Haley Yelinel, bith with 15 points. Yelinek hit five three pointers - three down the stretch in the sedcond half.
"We have had a lot of practice in the box and one defense and I thought Taylor did a nice job on Kara Crowley, one of the better players in a bigger league," said I-G coach Craig Jenkins. "Defensively we're starting to cflick. We're making good decisions in transition. We tried to slow things down a little tonight."
