Dodgeville wrestling coach Ryan Lord announced today (Tuesday) that Dodgeville senior 220 lb. Brady Wetter has verbally committed to wrestle for the UW Badgers next season.
He has accepted a scholarship offer.
"Brady met with the Badger coaches on Sunday and announced that he will make his lifelong dream of wrestling for the Badgers a reality," Lord sadi "I am thrilled for Brady, thrilled for the UW landing an excellent prospect, and thrilled for current and future Dodger wrestlers who can watch Brady continue his wrestling career as a Badger and dream of following in Brady's footsteps."
The official signing may be sometime in April.
Dodgeville wrestlers registered two pins and a tech fall to Belmont/Plattevilles win by decision in a forfeit marred match. The result was a 59-9 Dodger win.
Jack Shickel and Isaac Grunow gained the pins at 160 and 132 respectively with Max Miller getting the tech fall at 106.
"We finished the season with a dual meet record of 4 wins and 4 losses," Lord said. "Although we were hoping to finish with a much better record, we had several close duals that were decided by one or two close matches."
