Making a difference
By J. Patrick Reilly-preilly@thedodgevillechronicle.com
you made a difference?"
That is a question that has to be answered personally. Making a difference
means something different to each person and it is up to each
person to decide if that is something they want to do.
Two instances of making a difference crossed my desk this week,
one in a couple obituaries and another in an interview.
Reading the obituaries proves that the people we lost have made a
difference. It might be in a business venture, a health profession, a
good family man or woman or as a young person who is geared up to
help others. It is sad we lose people who really care about people. It
is a challenge for those who follow to continue making a difference,
The interview was with someone who feels we were put on earth to
help each other and make the world a better place. She is someone
who puts her money where her mouth is, so to speak, directing funds
to orphanages in Haiti and making/directing mission trips there to
help the children who have no one else.
She and her mission supporters truly make a difference, especially
globally.
The question that must be asked is do we each take the time to help
others and to make a difference or are we too wrapped up in ourselves
and with technology to tend toward being a loner?
Do people make a difference in your life and do you make a difference
in theirs?
The answer lies with you.
