Dodger girls fall at Riverdale
Borne hit 13 of her points in the second half with Jones putting in 9 in the first half.
The Dodgers hit on just four of 28 shots from the field in the first half and made only 7 of 14 free throws as they trailed 26-16 at the intermission.
Their shooting woes from the floor continued in the second half at 5 of 21, but they did connect on 11 of 12 from the charity line with Borne hitting eight of nine.
Brooke Rhyner garnered 10 rebounds with Borne and Serena Phan grabbing six each.
Riverdale didn't have a player reach double figures, but seven players scored. Macy Mau had nine with Callie Arellano, Autum Noble and Macey Klebesadel each adding eight.
"In the first half we got good looks, the shots just didn't fall," said Dodger coach Josh Busch. "Riverdale got some easy buckets when we missed some rotations. However we were up three with about 3:00 remaining though."
"We did have 10 steals on them and forced turnovers," he added. "We made some strides. If we can do that every game, we'll be OK. We are just so young and we show that youth in some situations."
