Eagle diamondmen lose pair


Barneveld's baseball team dropped a Six Rivers doubleheader to Potosi Friday in games played at Potosi. Scores were 9-4 and 5-3.
In the opener, the Eagles scored three times in the third.
Will Clausen opened with a single and was followed by consecutive one basers by Parker Runk and Jacob Slaney. Trey Gordon walked to force in a run then Caleb Behnke grounded out to drive in another and Sam Shatrawka was safe on a fielders choice to plate the third tally.
Potosi came back with two in their half of the third on a single, walk and an error doing the damage.
Potosi's Zack Reuter's double drove in two of their four runs in the fifth and Jake Langkamp's single accounted for the other two.
Jake Langkamp's single plated the final run of three in the sixth.
Barneveld could only answer with one run on Trey Laube's single.
Reuter led the Chieftains going 3x4 with Teagan Frederick 2x3.
Barneveld had solo hits by Laube, Trevor Seigenthaler, Clausen, Runk and Slaney.
Siegenthaler worked 4 2/3 frames allowing six runs (4 earned) on nine hits. He fanned seven and walked a pair. Shatrawka finished giving up three runs (none earned) on two hits while walking two and striking out one.
Potosi' Jake Udelhoven went the distance allowing four runs - three earned - on five hits while striking out seven with four free passes.
Game two saw a 3-1 Eagle lead erased with a four-run fifth by the Chieftains.
Two walks, a hit by pitch followed by a two-run double by Alex Abell and a two run triple by Andrew Udelhoven plated four of the five runs.
Barneveld's runs came on singles by Shatrawka, Laube, Siegenthaler and Dalton Schaller. Siegenthaler scored on a passed ball.
Shatrawka went the first three frames for the Eagles. He didn't allow a hit, but one unearned run as he fanned four and walked five.
Clausen went 1 1/3 without allowing a hit, but two earned runs. He walked three and fanned one.
Behnke went 1 2/3 allowing three hits and two runs while striking out two without a free pass.
Slaney finished allowing one hit and no runs without a strikeout,but one walk.
Potosi's Alex Udelhoven got the win as he worked six innings and allowed three runs on seven hits while fanning six and walking five.
Brad Abuig closed it fanning one, waking two and not alowing a hit.
Laube, Siegenthaler and Shatrawka each collected two hits for Barneveld.
