Eagles get Ponies in three

Barneveld's girls volleyball team did not let a slow start and a couple missed serves keep them from beating Monticello 3-0 in Six Rivers West home volleyball game Thursday.
The Eagles followed Taylor Owens's lead and when her kills got going so did the team. The Eagles won the first set 27-25.
Owens went on to record 14 kills and three blocks against the Ponies.
The Eagles tacked on a 25-20 win in the second set then cruised to a 25-12 decision in the final game.
Teegan Pickarts had eight aces and served four of them in the final set. She also had 11 assists.
Kelsee Fargo set nine assists for the Eagles.
"Taylor got us going early with her kills and Teegan helped us in the third set with her aces," said Eagles coach Melissa Schlimgen.
The coach also said libero Abigail Sutter had several digs in the back row that she got the ball to the setters which were turned into points.
Brie Graber had five kills and Brittany Disch four blocks for the Ponies. Jessie Garrison had two aces and 15 assists.
