"The girls fought hard over a long day of volleyball." said coach Shelby Rideout. "We played tough in the front row most of the day, and even when we started to struggle, we never stopped swinging."
"Serving was our biggest enemy and nearly cost us some wins." Rideout said. "When our communication on the court was there, we were unstoppable. This has been our primary focus over the past week, and the girls are really starting to see the incredible difference it makes. Win or lose, this team never gives up, and it paid off this weekend."
Tuesday the Dodgers beat the Flying Arrows 3-0 on wins of 25-16, 25-13 and 25-19.
The Dodgers suited up 13 girls (Haley Marten is out with a thumb injury and Kara Crowley sat out with a leg issue) and the entire line-up got in the game.
"We played very good defense," Rideout said. "It was a fun night and it was a real team effort as all 13 played."
"We went with a 5-1 offense because Kara was out and we hope to get back to the 6-2 next week with her back," Rideout added. "We haven't run the 5-1 much but the girls did well."
The Dodgers did not start any of the three games well but played back in it with hard hitting and strong net play.
"We also did a good job communicating," Rideout said. "We stress that in practice and the girls are figuring out when the do that we do well."
Katie Valeria had 14 kills and Madison Stumpf 10 along with 11 digs. Megan Pluemer and Briana Yingst both had a block. Kenzie Burkhalter had an ace and 12 digs and Marissa Parkin put up 27 assists.
