All cross country teams win


Dodgeville-Mineral Point cross country teams all had a good day Saturday at the Belleville Invi-tational as all four teams won.
The varsity girls team won with 21 points to runner-up Clinton's 73 with Belleville at 75 and Evansville with 89.
Bellevlle's Noelle Marie won the race in 19:46 with Dodge-Point's Brittany Rhyner second in 21:25.
Then came Mackenzie Hall in 22:08, Cassie McGraw in 22:30 and Drew Sandstrom in 22:47, taking the 5 through 7 spots.
Josie Jabs rounded out the team scoring at 7th in 23:14 with Alexis Bauer 8th in 23:15 and Claire Baldus 10th in 23:53.
The JV girls took places 1 through 7, scoring a perfect 15 points.
Holy Family was next with 62 followed by Belleville 77 and Johnson Creek 86.
Kennedy Stumpf won in 24:01 followed by Hannah Tremelling in 24:16, Haley May in 24:39, Mariah Zoet in 24:42, Sydney Judd in 25:05, Macy Ahrens in 25:40 and Alyssa Sullivan in 26:04.
Other D-P runners were: Makayna Lemanski 9th in 27:11, Autumn Bell 11th in 29:20, Rachel McGauley 18h in 31:53.
The varsity boys won with 34 points to runner-up Belleville's 78. Then came Clinton 84, Home School Eagles 101, Southwestern 109, Evansville 124, Johnson Creek 170, Turner 214, Pecatonica/Argyle 264.
Juan Navarro took 2nd in 17:46 with Belleville's Tyler Gilberson the winner in 17:36.
D-P's Tanner Cullen was 5th in 18:32, Isaac Grunow 7th in18:46, Jordan May 8th in 18:48, Adam Phillips 12th in 19:20, Dylan McGraw 14th in 19:29 and Noah Blalock 16th in 19:39.
The JV won wih 24 points to Holy Family's 31, Home School wiht 93, Evansville with 94 and Clinton with 126.
Dodge-Point's John Phelan won the race in 19:32 with teammate Ty Driscoll 2nd in 20:00. Other scores were: Stewart Thompson 4th in 20:40, Conner Trocke 7th in 21:45, Hunter Blalock 10th in 21:58, David Nagel 11th in 21:59 and John Davis 12th in 22:20.
Other finshes were: Grant Lawton 15th 22:54, Brandon Molldrem 30 25:29, Josh Gorgen 34 26:01.
Pec/Argyle varsity scores were: Joey Boland 4th 21:34, Dakota Hoffman 52 23:00, Caleb Carr 56 24:17, Cade Bush 57 24:55, Marcel Timm 59 27:56, Hunter Carr 60 31:08.
"It was a very successful day for Dodge-Point Cross Country at the Belleville Meet on Saturday," said coach Denny McGraw. "All four teams won their races. The varsity girls won their race by a large margin, scoring 21 points to runner-up Clinton who had 73 points. Senior Brittany Rhyner led the varsity girls to their victory with a second place finish. The JV girls won their race with a perfect score of 15."
He added, "The varsity boys won their race scoring 34 points to runner-up Belleville who had 78 points. Sophomore Juan Navarro placed second in the boys race leading them to the team championship. The JV boys also won by scoring 24 points."
"It was a great day to be a Dodge-Point runner. Many runners came home with individual medals and ribbons. It was exciting to see the runners get out fast, keep up a steady pace and finish strong. The runners stepped it up nicely to all do so well."
The teams will compete at the always tough Janesville Midwest Invite Saturday at the Blackhawk Golf Course, just south of Janesville (exit 174A). It is their largest race of the year.
The schedule is: 9:00 Freshmen/Sophomore Girls, 9:40 Freshmen/Sophomore Boys, 10:15 Varsity Girls, 10:55 Varsity Boys, 11:30 JV Girls, 12:10 JV Boys
Awards will follow each individual race.
