Wetter, Dodgers roll past Hornets

After eight straight tries the Dodgeville football team finally got the win they were hoping for.
And they did it in convincing fashion.
Behind hard running senior Brady Wetter who pounded his way to four touchdowns and the clicking connection of Jordan Larson to Jordan Olson the Dodgers rolled over Richland Center 49-21. As neither team has a chance at a post season berth, this was their last game of the season.
Wetter started his barrage in fine fashion, eclipsing 92 yards in a matter of seconds and Olson's conversion gave the Dodgers a quick seven at 8:52.
Four minutes later Wetter got loose again, this time for a nine yard scoring jaunt. Olson's kick made it 14-0.
The defense got the next score when Chase Gollon picked off a pass and ran 42 yards to score. Again Olson kicked the conversion for a 21 point lead at 3:53.
The Hornets scored their first of three touchdowns when Noah Johnson passed to Aaron Sanders for touchdown spanning 84 yards. Johnson kicked the conversion to make it a 21-7 game.
The Dodgers got the seven points right back on a Zach Weber touchdown from 29 yards away. Olson's kick made it 28-7.
Wetter caught his breath and ran 26 yards to score with 36 seconds gone in the second quarter. It turned into a 35-7 game on Olson's kick.
Larson and Olson hooked up for a 32 yard touchdown via the air and Olson kicked it again to make it 42-7 at 8:42.
The Dodgers scored again on a short run by Wetter from the five and Olson kicked the conversion to swell the score to 48-7.
Richland Center scored twice in the fourth quarter for the final total.
Wetter scored on four of his nine carries for 203 yards. Weber carried eight times for 61 yards and Lance Johnsrud picked up 35 on five tries. Houston Stanek gained 13 in four attempts and Noah Durst carried once for two yards.
Larson made the most of his lone passing attempt, completing it for the 32 yard score using Olson as his target.
Defensively the Dodgers were led by Spencer Markham's nine tackles with Tim Gaither getting seven, Noah Durst six and Payton Richgels five.
The Dodgers finished the year with a 1-8 record but were within a touchdown in all five SWC losses.
