Senior Night sees Dodgers edge Prairie


When Dodgeville's volleyball team was honoring their seniors on their night a five set match broke out.
After winning the first two sets the Dodgers couldn't put Prairie du Chien away until set number five. They came out with a vengeance and hammered the Blackhawks 15-4 in the finale to win the SWC match 3-2.
The Dodgers won the first two sets 25-15 and 25-20. But Prairie regrouped and took game three 25-20 and game four 25-21 to set up the fifth set that ended up in favor of the Dodgers
Led by Katie Valeria's powerful 24 kill performance the Dodgers had a 48-23 edge at the net. Megan Pluemer and Madison Stumpf both added seven kills to the attack.
Stumpf had four aces for the Dodgers while Valeria and Katie Cushman were right behind with three.
Valeria continued her dominance at the net by knocking back five blocks. Kara Crowley had two.
It was Cushman's time to shine in the digs department as the libero recorded 27. Stumpf came up with 15, Marissa Parkin 10 and Crowley nine. Jordyn Alfred also had six digs.
Adding to the 73 digs were Macie Swiggum with two while Haley Martin, Pluemer and Ellie Argall each had one.
Crowley and Parkin handled the setting duties with 25 and 21 respectively.
