The nomination reads: "John Ross Linscheid, Highland - The Cardinals needed a victory to keep their playoff hopes alive, and despite trailing by at least 19 points three different times, rallied for a 56-49 victory over Shullsburg, scoring 42 points in the second half. Linscheid accounted for all six second half scores, finishing the day with 29 carries for 317 yards and six touchdowns on the ground. He also threw for 123 yards and a touchdown as the team piled up more than 500 yards of total offense. Highland, with one of the smallest enrollments in the state at just 73 students, can become playoff-eligible with a victory over Benton/Scales Mound (IL) in Week 9."
