Dodgers can't get Platteville

If Dodgeville volleyball coach Shelby Rideout had her way the one thing she would like her team to bring with them to every match is confidence.
"We can play with anybody," Rideout said after the Dodgers lost to SWC leading Platteville Tuesday. "We battle hard and don't give up match point easily but we don't seem to believe in ourselves enough to win."
She said there were too many errors as the Lady Hillmen picked up three straight wins, 25-15, 25-17, 25-17.
"Without the errors it would have been a good close match," Rideout said.
Serving errors were the main issue the Dodgers had.
"We did not get a lot of plays in the front row," Rideout said.
The Dodgers were without setter Kara Crowley who was one of two setters in the 6-2 offense Rideout wants to run. She is hampered by a leg injury.
"We ran a 5-1 again and while we practice it, it is not the offense we want to use,"she said.
Katie Valeria had nine kills and two blocks for the Dodgers while Marissa Parkin had four aces and 13 assists. Digs leaders were Madison Stumpf with seven and Katie Cushman with six.
"I give the girls credit with coming back after being down." Rideout said. "We just wait too long."
The Dodgers host River Valley tonight.
