William "Bill" Holm, age 63, of Dodgeville, died unexpectedly at his home on Tuesday, September 22, 2015 of natural causes. Bill was born on April 7, 1952 in Chicago, IL to Herman and Jenny (Kalseth) Holm. He was a 1970 graduate of Main West High School in Des Plaines, IL and then served two years in the U.S. Army. Bill married Nita Murphy of Spring Green on June 11, 1983. He worked as a Cement Finisher for many years and then drove truck for T. Slaney & Sons until retiring in June of 2014. Bill was an excellent carpenter, having built their home near Dodgeville. He also enjoyed fishing, baking artisan breads and drawing, especially Hot Rods.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Jenny Holm.
Bill is survived by his wife, Nita of Dodgeville; his sister, Linda (Brian) Burgh of Glenville, IL; his stepmother, Mary Holm of Madison; his father and mother-in-law, Earl and Marie Murphy of Arena; three sisters-in-law, Colleen (Shawn) Dugan of Middleton; Marcie (Chris) Mott of Raleigh, NC and Tricia (Doug) Spencer of Mt. Horeb; two brothers-in-law, Nick Murphy and Steve (Lori) Murphy, both of Spring Green as well as several nieces, nephews and many friends.
Memorial services were held at 1:00 P.M. Friday, September 25, 2015 at the Lulloff-Peterson-Houck Funeral Home in Dodgeville with Msgr. Daniel Ganshert officiating.
