Fennimore edges I-G


Iowa-Grant put a scare into Fennimore Monday in a SWAL baseball contest that the Golden Eagles won 8-7.
The Panthers scored two runs in the top of the seventh to make the game very interesting.
Fennimore had scored in the first for a 1-0 lead, but I-G plated three in the second.
The Eagles tied it with a pair in the third with both teams scoring twice in the fifth.
The Eagles took an 8-5 lead with three in the sixth.
TJā€ˆAnderson was 3x4 with a double and Charles Christianson was 2x3 wih a double for the Panthers.
Jeff Needham was 2x4 with a doule. Patrick Grovier tripled and Nick Henkel hit a home run.
Anderson worked 4 1/3 innings for the Panthers giving up five runs (4 earned) on seven hits while striking out four and walking one.
Caleb Hill finished up allowing three runs (0 earned) on two hits with two strikeouts and two bases on balls.
Trey Hunt went the distance for Fennimore. He struck out six, walked four and gave up seven runs with only one being earned on nine hits.
