"Platteville has been pretty hard on us the past 2 1/2 years and had just beat us 12-3 a couple of weeks ago, bu we're not the same team we were then," Van Dyck pointed out.
"Our defense is playing really well in both the outfield and infield and Kelsey is throwing the ball pretty well," he added.
"The big thing is our hitting really is coming around and this was one of the most dominating offensive performances I've seen by us in years. We had 17 hits in 5 1/3 innnings and to top it off all the hits were really tagged," he concluded.
Tuesday the Dodgers ran into River Valley's Kylie Hoffman, who nearly no-hit them last time the two teams squared off.
She struck out 11 without a walk, but his time the Dodgers got to her for seven hits and two runs, but fell 6-2.

River Valley's big inning was the third when they plated three runs.

Jacobson's two bagger drove in Ally Schlutter in the fourth. Hoffman rapped a solo home run in the fifth and an error scored Esser, who had doubled in the sixth.
"We played a pretty decent game just not good enough," Van Dyck said. "We hit the ball hard but Hoffman struck out 11 of us. They only outhit us 9-7, but we walked three and six of their seven hits were for extra bases. Defensively it was a pretty clean game."
