Angels outfielder Mike TROUT hit a home run off of Texas Rangers pitcher
Anthony BASS. If that wasn't "fishy" enough, the Angels have a player
named Tim SALMON, who didn't comment on the home run. The question
most posed to the media was "did the fan who CAUGHT the home run
THROW IT BACK?"

With all the National Letters of Intent being signed for high school athletes
going on to play their sport in college, Ron Lee Dentinger III will play football
at MIT next year. MIT stands for Massachusetts Institute of Technology
and is one of the top (if not the top) schools for science and technology. He
is the son of Ron Dentinger II, a graduate of Dodgeville High School and
grandson of Ron Dentinger, who lived in Dodgeville for many years being
manager of the Don Q Inn, Dodgeville Chamber of Commerce Director and
is famous as a comedian/Masters of Ceremony - Ron (the 1st) also sings and
does card tricks besides other "novelty" things! He was also once named as
"Wisconsin's Funniest Man" - not sure if that meant looking!

Above is "RD3" - that's Ron Dentiger III - at media day in El Paso, Texas
where he went to high school!

Mother's Day is this coming Sunday. Don't forget to recognized that special
mom who has probably helped shape your life more than anyone else!

It must be spring now. The Uplands Garden Club's annual Plant Sale is
coming up on Saturday, May 16 inside of Ley Pavilion at Harris Park. You
get a chance to see the area's "real professionals" hard work. I see some of
that club's members around town planting at such places as the Dodgeville
Public Library!

Area colleges and universities are in the process of graduations now with
the high schools not to far down the road. Youngsters are out looking for
summer jobs and/or to go to summer school.

We received word the other day that Dodgeville will have a new retail business
in the new few months. That's good news!

After going to church on Sunday I had a chance to attend the St. Joseph
School's "Odyssey of The Mind" breakfast fundraiser for the teams going
on to World competition in Michigan. That surely is something we didn't
have when I was a youngster. As a matter of fact there are hundreds of things
the kids get to take advantage of that I never imagined as a youngster!
