Sr. Babe Ruth wins two of three


Dodgeville's Senior Babe Ruth team has started the season with a 2-1 record.
They opened the season with a 4-2 loss to Riverdale. The Dodgers scored their runs in the first inning when Trent Jones singled, stole second and came home on a Jordan Larson single.
Larson then score on an error.
The Dodgers could only manage one more hit in the game, a single by Zack Weber in the fourth.
Cole Sullivan, Larson and Jordan Olson all pitched two innings.
The Dodgers then traveled to Richland Center and took care of the Hornets 5-2.
Jordan Larson and Trent Jones combined to pitch the win. Larson worked five innings, striking out six, walking six and giving up three hits and both Center runs.
Jones struck out five and gave up one hit in two frames.
Sullivan singled in Jones who walked and Weber who was hit by a pitch for a two run first.
They added three in the fifth. Jones walked, Olson doubled and Sullivan singled for two runs. Three straight walks send in Sullivan.
Sullivan was 2x3 and Olson 1x3 for Dodgeville.
Friday the Dodgers turned back Highland 9-2.
Houston Stanek was 4x4, Matt Gorgen 2x3 and Olson 1x3 for the Dodgers.
Larson pitched six innings and struck out 13. Jones struck out the side in the seventh.
