Along the Ad Routes

I was in Hollandale Sunday for the Dodgeville Knight/Hollandale Rockies
Home Talent game and I had somebody (named Bill Whitford) yell at me
that "no wonder I'm always talking about getting hit by traffic - I'm always
walking down the middle of the road." I was walking to my car that was
parked alongside the highway and was in the roadway when he saw me - but
I had already looked to see if any traffic was around!

The Knights should've won that game, but they looked too much like the
Brewers - no hitting and throwing the ball around to give away runs! They
lost 7-6.

Good luck to Dodgeville's Chapin Orr (D2) and Mineral Point's Taylor
Ryman (D3), both regional golf winners who played to go to state on Tuesday.
Both the Dodgers and Pointers played as teams to move on also. Plus
Iowa-Grant's Brady Peat, Barneveld's Matthew Myers and Argyle/Pecatonica's
Mitchell Steiner played as individuals in an attempt to qualify in Division
3.

The photo above could be a scene you see at UW-La Crosse as the Dodge-
Point boys relay team makes a hand off!

Friday and Saturday UW-La Crosse hosts the WIAA State Track & Field
Championships. Dodgeville-Mineral Point will have four individuals and
four relay teams in Division 2 girls competition and one individual boy along
with three relay teams in D2. Good luck to all those competitors. It should
be fun!
*****
Also, in Division 3, Pecatonica/Argyle's Josie Penniston qualified in both
the 100 and 400 meters. Good luck to her!

Saturday morning begins at 6:30 a.m. with the annual Iowa County Dairy
Breakfast at the Nels-Vale Farm, near Arena. The Nelsons are celebrating
100 years of farming too! This always is a great feast and a lot of fun for the
family - especially if you are from the city and don't get to go to farms very
often!
*****
Country at the Crossroads has a lot of things going on for the entire family
on Friday, Saturday and Sunday as does Montfort's "Big Days" at the same
time! On Friday night is the St. Joseph Fun Run" with a Knights of Columbus
Chicken BBQ - in Dodgeville!

So - if you say there's never anything to do around here - think twice!
