Thoroughly enjoyed reading about the Platteville cleaner employees being
so HONEST. An incident in the Walmart parking lot unfortunately isn't as
enjoyable!!! A young woman left her "Yorke" in her car while she RAN into
the store to buy a collar and tag - when she returned her little dog was GONE!
So SAD!!! Perhaps you would be able to look into this incident - might
SHAME someone!!!

A while back (I misplaced this) we received a nice note from a subscriber.
She wrote: "I love to receive the Chronicle and keep up with the news from
back home! Some months back I read about a change in delivery: Anyway,
once I went three weeks without one and then those three came in the same
week. I am renewing my subscription with hopes the delivery will be constant.
I apologize about the late renewal, but I did not receive a notice and
just remembered. Keep up the great news." Jean Luebke Waconia, Minnesota.

My office almost looks like a human being works in it now! We replaced
some equipment and quite a bit was removed from my office. And then I
cleaned some things out too - that also helped. I actually have a pretty good
work station too!

Saturday I made my way to the Little Britches Rodeo in Highland. It got
pretty hot at times, but it was a lot better than other years. That same day
was part of the Livingston Festival and also the Spring Green Art Fair. There
were some other events going on in the area that I can't remember. There
were also baseball and softball tournaments. If anybody says there's nothing
to do around here, they're CRAZY!

I ran into quite a few people I hadn't seen in quite some time at the rodeo
- one being Wayne Lipska, a former Dodgevilleite!

Sunday was Home Talent baseball day. I got up around 6:30 a.m. and
headed to the office to do a few things and then went to Centennial Park to
do some cooking in preparation for a doubleheader baseball game between
the Dodgeville team and Pine Bluff/Mount Horeb. The teams split games
and I ran out of buns in between contests. I did get more and cooked up more
brats, burgers and hot dogs and made it through everything OK! I did get
bailed out in the concession stand at the really busy time - that was a godsend!

This week is the Fourth of July weekend. Everyone usually says that summer
is half over when the fourth gets here. Anyway, all roads head to Mineral
Point for the 4th - they have a lot of events planned. Dodgeville plays at
Ridgeway on the 4th in Home Talent baseball action too. Lone Rock is another
place that always has a huge 4th of July celebration!
