Dodgers finish first half of SWC on top
Check...
Finish it undefeated.
Even better check.
That is the result for the Dodgeville boys basketball team after their 64-46 win over Richland Center Friday.
And to take it one step further the Dodgers finished the first round with an unblemished SWC record.
"We ended the first round of conference games undefeated and understand we can not overlook anyone of our games in the second round," said coach Ryan Bohnsack. "We were fortunate to come away undefeated and I am pleased with how our entire team has competed."
After a 12-6 first quarter lead the Dodgers raced to a 36-16 halftime lead as they added 24 points in the second frame. Trent Jones, who finished the night with 22 points, struck for 13 in the run. He finished the first half with 17.
Ryan Raess had 11 points the first half and finished the night with 16.
The Dodgers moved the lead to 53-32 after three.
Austin Haas had 16 and Noah Johnson 13 to lead the Hornets.
