Dodgers pull away from Hillmen
The Hillmen led 4-0, but then Dodger Trent Jones nailed two from downtown and Isaac Nagel hit one and the Hillmen were quickly down 9-4. They battled back to a 13-13 stalemate at the end of one however.
It may have been a three pointer by Caleb Grady, but the Dodgers caught fire on both end of the court as they put up 21 points in the second frame. On the other end of the court their pressure defense caused several Platteville miscues and just seven points.
"Caleb hit two big threes for us and Riley Berning hit one at a time we weren't really scoring in the second half," Dodger coach Ryan Bohnsack pointed out.
The Dodgers outscored Platteville 32-24 in the second half for the 22 point win.
Jones led all scorers with 19 points while Nagel added 13 and Grady 10. Nine Dodgers scored in the game.
Platteville was paced by 6'6" Chance Kupersmith's 15 points, with nine coming in the second half. Jason Withrow added 10.
"We were hoping we could pressure the ball and get them to rush their decisions and we did at times," Bohnsack said. "Kupersmith hurt us, but mainly at the foul line. Platteville battled us down to the final horn."
"Our role players hit some big threes tonight (Berning and Jordan Larson) and others scored too," he added. "It's the time of year we need a lot of guys playing and contributing and they did tonight whether it was offensively or defensively. We have a bunch of games in the next week."
