Panthers can't slow Boscobel's Latham

Sophomore A.J. Hendrickson poured in 20 first half points and finished with 26 on a night the host Pecatonica Vikings controlled action from the opening tip and coasted to a 70-41 victory over the visiting Juda Panthers.
Hendrickson's teammate - Brooks Chandler, added 15 including 13 in the first half when the Vikings utilized full court pressure, created numerous offensive opportunities- all due to the pressurized defensive tactics and held a commanding a 47- 18 lead by intermission.
"We were going to press from the get-go and we executed that game plan pretty well tonight," emphasized coach Matt Fink after the game.
"We created a lot of opportunities and lay ups out of the press although as the game wore on, we lost a little of that focus and it got a little sloppy. But overall, I was pretty impressed with the job our kids did tonight. We're happy with the win - we wanted to get to 5-0 in the conference as we looked ahead to Black Hawk," added Fink, referring to a showdown type game tonight (Thursday, Jan. 15) in Blanchardville at 7:30 p.m. - when the Vikings face a Six Rivers East heavyweight - the Black Hawk Warriors.
"Heath Butler is the key..he's 6'5", he can score with his back to the basket - he can score facing up and he can hit the three. He's a really solid player for them. We need to be ready and be able to take care of business. "
Black Hawk defeated Barneveld late last week, setting up tonight's 5-0 Vikings against the 4-0 Warriors in a battle of conference unbeatens.
The Vikings are 9-3 overall while the Warriors are 5-5.
