"Overall, the team wrestled better." said River Valley coach Ralph Liegel. "Having the team place in the top 12 overall was a good showing for our team, especially with only having 10 wrestlers competing. Placing three in the top four of this tournament individually was nice and getting another in the top 8 was also a good way to start the second half of the season out."
The coach added, "Hopefully, we can get some people back that were not able to compete at BI- State. We will continue to work on the things that we struggled with this week in practice. Hopefully, by working hard to eliminate the mistakes, it will allow us to win by a larger margin in the close matches we did win and help us to win the close matches that we lost. "
"I was really pleased by the results of the local wrestlers at BI State. It says a lot about the quality of wrestling in the SW part of the state. I'm excited for the rest of the season," Liegel concluded.
