sung during that holiday time and the end of December when there is snow
on the ground. Well, this Christmas it was pretty brown/green on the ground
at that time of the year, but over the past weekend we received as much (if
not more) snow than we had on the ground anytime at Christmas time in
2014 and early in the year 2015. In some spots around this immediate area
I'm sure there was some 8-10 inches. I know that I walked through a good
6-8 through the parking lot just outside of the Chronicle Sunday. People were
outside with their snow blowers and shovels several times on Sunday just to
stay ahead of it all. It was not just snowing, but it was blowing too. That made
for more snow in some areas than others! When there are church services
cancelled you know there's a lot of snow out there. Travel was not something
you wanted to do. But, the city and county workers did what they could to
make traveling as good as it could be - under the circumstances!

Saturday mid afternoon I invited good friend Judy Fortney to Bob's BBQ
for a final meal at his present location. He closed at Cobblestone Court that
evening and began the move to the former True Value building just a block
to the south. Now the real work at that location begins - not that it wasn't
real work before getting things ready for the big move. I understand the Mexican
restaurant that is going into Cobblestone Court could be up and going
about the third week of February!

Jim and Sue Coatney took over the Premier Paint & Decorating/DECO
Supply business in Dodgeville last Friday. It's great to have them in business
here. They have lived here nine years. And it's really great that they are keeping
an existing business going!

The UW Badgers men's basketball team played another pretty impressive
game at Iowa Saturday - always a tough place to play and come away with
a win! Boy, that Frank Kaminsky is sure something as a player (and person).
He impresses me more each time I see him play and hear him speak!

A little while back son Michael and wife Jolisa stopped by to have lunch
before going on to Madison to try and pick up something they spotted around
Christmas time. They didn't buy it then, but felt they needed it now. Anyway
he has a cousin and some former co-workers who are located at the HyVee
stores in Madison, so there is a dual purpose for their visit. The two of them
are doing fine in Muscatine, Iowa where he works for HyVee and she is a
police officer. Some of her "police" stories are pretty interesting!

I was crossing the main street of Dodgeville the other day and was accompanied
by two "young" women. Like I usually do I waked right out in front
of a couple of vehicles that were approaching the intersection, forcing them
to stop. The young women both said I was living dangerously. I replied -
"Hey, they are supposed to stop for pedestrians in the crosswalk aren't they?
It's a law. I'm just reminding them!"
