Dodger wrestlers rout Pecatonica/Argyle

Coach Mike Pittz's Pecatonica-Argyle Vikings came up short in the team's final dual meet match of 2015 Tuesday, Dec. 22, dropping a 57-3 match to the visiting Dodgeville Dodgers.
Dodgeville, in fact, has more 'coaches' (6 - Ryan Lord, Harry Hellen, Grant Miller, Ben Pagenkopf, Andy Phelan and Bobby Wunnicke) on its match program printed out for spectators, than Pec-Argyle generally has 'competitive wrestlers' for any given match.
Pecatonica-Argyle has experienced injuries at some weight classes and a lack of participants at numerous other weight categories.
Dodgeville and Pecatonica-Argyle both had forfeits at 113 pounds, at 120 pounds and at 126 pounds - and the Dodgers also received forfeits from Pecatonica-Argyle at 106 (Max Miller), at 138 (John Phelan); at 145 (Noah Durst); at 152 (Jordan May); and at 195 (John Geisking).
Of the five matches held, Dodgers' 160 pounder Joey Recob pinned Viking Trevor Gilson in 5:02; Dodgeville 170 pounder Jack Shickel defeated Pec-Argyle's Prestan Rosenstiel 12-6; Zach Weber pinned Viking Lucas Gilbertson in 1:57; and Dodgers' heavyweight Payton Calvert pinned Andrew Schild in 1:41.
The lone victory for the host Vikings came at 132 pounds - where Pecatonica-Argyle senior Casey Phillips edged Isaac Grunow 5-2.
Coach Pittz's team has been in action in the annual holiday break tournament staged at Whitewater on Tuesday, Dec. 29 and again on Wednesday, Dec. 30 and is next in action Saturday, January 9 at Sauk Prairie High School's Invitational Tournament.
