Cards just short of Cassville

Highland's girls basketball team had a play set up as they trailed Cassville 52-49 Tuesday.
Problem was it didn't work so they were forced to settle for the three point loss.
"It was nice to have a chance at the end and to experience a close game," coach Josh Tarrell said. "Now we have to work on our offense and stay intense for the whole game."
A free throw, a basket and a free throw at the end proved to be the winning points for the Comets.
The Cardinals had worked their way back to a tie but could not get the lead.
Kylie Esser had 17 and Jessica Kosharek netted 16 to lead Highland.
Post player Kennedy McMillian dominated the inside for the Comets and led with 18. Andrea Oakey added 15 while Isabel Ortiz hit 10.
"One thing we are learning is that we have to outwork them," Tarrell said. "Once we do that, we will be ok."
