Dodger boys start fast, whip Hillmen
Senior Trent Jones led all scorers on the night with 24 points, hitting 18 in the second half.
Sophomore post Bryce Prochaska came up with 12 of his 19 in the first half while senior Jordan Larson nailed a trio of three pointers and ended up with 15 while junior Isaac Nagel chipped in 10 markers.
The Dodgers took a double digit lead midway through the first half and never relinquished it.
The Hillmen got it down to 12 in the second half, but the Dodgers pushed the margin back up and won going away by 22.
"It was nice to have four in double figures," said Dodger coach Matt McGraw. "It shows good balance. The guys did a nice job sticking to our game plan, something we emphasized."
He added, "Trent had a strong second half not only shooting the ball, but he went to the basket and had some nice passes setting up other players for shots.
"We got Bryce some nice touches in the post. He had a solid game and Platteville didn't have an answer for him when we got it in to him.
"Jordan Larson hit three threes and had a solid game. He rebounded well and he responded well defensively as we often ask him to guard a taller post player.
"Isaac had a nice consistent game while Jordan Olson was our defensive stopper. He slowed down their best shooter, allowing only one three."
Platteville's Donovan Blevins hit 23 points to lead their offense.
The Dodgers are now 5-1 on the season.
