Along the Ad Routes

year. One of these days I will look back and see just how many years I have
been doing this. I remember being at the old Power & Light building downtown
as well as the Gentry Shop! I know it's been over 35 years. It gets more
fun every year. One thing a youngster asked for this year was "beets". That
made Santa wonder if they meant the ones directly out of the garden or the
canned variety?!!! I guess they needed to spell that for the jolly ol' fella as
they meant "beats"!

I think I forgot to tell some of the people that I took photos for that they
would be available at the Dodgeville Chronicle office this Thursday. Oh, and
anyone who had photos taken on November 28th - their photos are ready to
be picked up anytime too!

The weekend was very mild, but it was kind of a strange one for nearly the
middle of December. Saturday morning it was that you couldn't see your
hand in front of your face for the fog. Sunday, it rained nearly the entire day
and I think it hit nearly 60 degrees outside - it was very mild!

The "Four Amigos" went to Pleasant Ridge to have breakfast Saturday
morning. After we had been traveling on County Z for awhile somebody said,
"Are you sure we haven't passed it yet?" I replied, "I've been watching
through the fog for the County ZZ sign and haven't seen it yet." It was just
a couple of seconds later that there the sign was and then we had to search
through the fog for the driveway!

Sunday there was an open house at "Orchard Lawn" (GundryHouse) in
Mineral Point. With entertainment by Dr. Aaron and Monica Dunn I wanted
to show a few of the people sitting and enjoying the music (see above photo).

When this paper comes out, there's just one week of shopping before
Christmas. That means I had better start thinking about what I am going to
get everyone. Maybe I will just wait until after Christmas for the clearances
to start!

I stopped at J & C Floor Shop in Dodgeville the other day to check on the
progress of them moving and Anytime Fitness taking over the entire building.
I was told that they were moving (about a block to the north east) by the first
of the year. They may be closed for a few days during the move, but it is happening.
Good luck at your new location Jack & Chris!

With the lack of retail on the main street in Dodgeville, Its been great having
Time and Again Vintage open nearly every day during the holiday season.
Terry and company have brought a lot of people to the area to shop their
store!

I want to thank Cobblestone Coffee House and Duke's for their hospitality
during my two episodes of taking photos with Santa & Mrs. Claus this year.
With help from "Our Front Porch" right next door, they provided a great setting
for the photos by the fireplace in their "Wine Bar".
