Dodgers solve Hornets
The Lady Hornets jumped put to a 14-3 lead in the contest before the Dodgers outscored them 59-27 the rest of the way.
Kara Crowley gave the Dodgers their first lead at 22-21when she hit two free throws and then Hannah Jones scored three quick buckets, one coming on a mid-court steal just after she had made a layup.
The Dodgers led 30-22 at halftime.
Jones finished the night with 27 points on 10/20 shooting from the field.
Megan Pluemer added 16 while Crowley chipped in with 14 - including hitting three out of four three point attempts. She also hauled down 15 rebounds.
Richland Center sophomore Madison Rizner led her team with 23 points, but was the lone Lady Hornet to reach double figures.
"We've got to start out better than that," Dooley said about being down 14-3. "You can't give teams like Richland Center that kind of lead."
It was mainly Crowley who held 6'1" talented RC junior Brooklyn Liegel to only four free throws.
"Brooklyn is just too good. You can't let her get going and be in a comfort zone," Dooley said. "Kara, Hannah, Madison (Stumpf) and Megan all worked to keep her uncomfortable."
"Risner is a great athlete. We knew we weren't going to shut both her and Liegel down."
He also said they had great contributions from Alexis Bauer and Katie Cushman plus bench players Ellie Argall and Cassara Carey.
