people's day and/or Thanksgiving Day table with a dozen beautiful roses.
Every year the club holds a fundraiser with the flowers being delivered the
day before Thanksgiving. That's a project I have supported for several years.

I was involved in getting run over on Thanksgiving in a mishap that occurred.
I was at the Community Thanksgiving Meal held at St. Joseph
Catholic Church to take some photos of the preparation and carryout line getting
the meals served and then taken out for deliveries. While I was there I
stopped and talked with quite a few people and one time I was in between
the rows of tables talking away and my foot was run over by a cooler on
wheels that someone was taking out to their vehicle. I didn't get hurt though!
*****
While I was at St. Joe's I had a chance to visit with Dave Price, someone I
hadn't seen in quite some time. He graduated from high school with brother
Pat and is one of his (and my) best friends. He had his wife and several of
their kids were either delivering or working in the kitchen that day!

I don't know about some drivers! The other day I was at the stoplight to
turn right onto 18/151 in front of the Best Western in Dodgeville. The light
was red, but I could legally make the turn as there wasn't any traffic coming
from the east. Just as I was making that turn, a motorist puling a trailer, made
a U-Turn right into my lane. That driver was heading east and made that illegal
turn in between the Culver's and Best Western corner. I really didn't
see it coming until I was out into the right lane and that driver (because of
the length of the two vehicles) went into my lane. It was a good thing I spotted
it happening or else there would've been a pretty good collision! The vehicle(
s) sped off really fast and turned to the north on Hwy 23 while I was recovering
from the incident so I didn't get to see what state the license plate
had on it. I'm pretty sure it was a Wisconsin plate though! Shame, shame!

We had quite the "Small Business Saturday" (November 28th) in
Dodgeville. The day pretty much began with a FREE movie "Prancer" that
a good amount of youngsters with some parents attending. Santa and Mrs.
Claus were there to greet the youngsters as they came out of the theatre and
the duo of Dave and Matty Olson sang Christmas Carols while the people
exited. Several people told me they did some eating and shopping as they
waited for "Photos With Santa & Mrs. Claus" to take place from 1-2:30 p.m.
at Cobblestone Coffee House. I took a pretty good amount of photos during
that time with just a minute or two of downtime. During the afternoon the
Dodgeville Chamber of Commerce was doing "Random Acts of Kindness"
throughout Dodgeville (downtown, north end and east and west). Some people
were helped to their vehicle with their packages, some were given money
to help buy presents, some had an amount of money paid on their bill, some
were given FREE beverages (surprised when they went to pay for them) -
the chamber also had FREE gift wrapping at their office, along with complimentary
hot chocolate and coffee!

A BIG THANK YOU to the Dodge Theatre staff (see above photo) for
sponsoring the free movie, the businesses that donated to the Random Acts
of Kindness and the volunteers who helped out during the day. I have to "pat"
ourselves (Dodgeville Chronicle) on the back too as brother Pat was the one
who pushed for something happening on Small Business Saturday last year
and it was carried through then by our staff and even more this year. It was
good to see all the people shopping in the local stores and having the downtown
streets pretty much full all day long - even at 5:00 p.m.!

This Saturday from 8-11 there will be a "Breakfast with Santa & Mrs. Claus
at the Dodgeville Plymouth Congregaitonal Church and the "Santa's Secret
Shop" will be open from 8:30-1:30 at the former Thym's on Hwy 23 north
of Dodgeville.

And if anyone out there still wants a photo taken with Santa & Mrs. Claus
- we won't be doing it this coming week, but will be at Cobblestone Coffee
Shop on Sunday, December 13 from 1-2:30 p.m. And if you care about the
Packers interfering, they play Dallas at 3:25 p.m.!
