Late Blue Devils surge does in Dodgers

Dodgeville played Evansville/Albany tough for three quarters Friday before the Blue Devils got loose for three fourth period scores.
That gave the Blue Devils a 28-0 win in the non-conference match-up and the first game of 2015 for both teams.
The surge in the final quarter started with a pick six by Demetrious Heniadis that went for a touchdown from 15 yards out. Brennan Banks and Hunter Overland then put on the finishing touches with runs of five and seven yards.
Ryker Brown, a 5-7, 225 pound senior fullback put up the first score in the opening quarter on a two yard plunge. Brown ended up with an 88 yard night rushing on 11 tries.
The Blue Devils ran for 178 yards and passed for 122 more. Zach Mielke hit on six of 13 passes while Trevor Bierman caught two passes for 51 yards.
The Dodgers totaled 55 yards on the ground, 29 of them by Brady Wetter. Jordan Larson completed two of 12 passes before leaving with a back injury.
The final quarter scoring binge took place over the last 12 minutes.
The Dodgers return home to host Mineral Point in a non-conference match-up Friday.
