Sauk/Dodgeville OVR champs nipped by PSW

The Sauk/Dodgeville Ohio Valley champions had everything but a little luck as they lost to California's Pacific Southwest champs 5-4 in their second game of the Babe Ruth Baseball 16-18 World Series Sunday in Klamath Falls, Oregon.
The S/D team went into the top of the seventh trailing by a run but had a glimmer of hope when Elijah Jorgenson doubled to lead off the frame. He got to third on a passed ball but got doubled up on a fly ball to the California third baseman.
Levi Nagel coaxed a two out walk but the game ended when the California left fielder caught a hard liner from Keith Kraemer to end the game.
California, the Pacific Southwest Regional champion, used a three run fourth to take a 5-2 lead. Joseph Cooper's two rbi double was the big blow, sending home Jacob Brum and Wesley Bradford.
Sauk/Dodgeville got on the board in the second when Extra Hitter Conner Leisters singled. Pinch runner Nolan Joyce then advanced on a single by Trent Jones, took third on an error and scored on a 6-4-3 double play.
S/D took a 2-1 lead in the third. Ben Lenerz reached on a fielders choice, moved up on a single by Nagel and took third when Kraemer was walked to load the bases. Leisters was then hit by a pitch to plate Lenerz.
In the fifth a fielders choice by Jorgenson, a walk to Lenerz and a Nagel single loaded the bases. Kraemer sent in one run with a sacrifice fly to center and Leisters was walked to send in another.
Jordan Larson worked into the fourth inning before Kraemer took over. Larson gave up six hits and four runs. He walked five and struck out three.
Kraemer surrendered a run on three hits while fanning three and walking three.
