Area cowgirls compete at rodeo


The 2015 Wisconsin High School Regional Rodeo held at the Iowa County Fairgrounds in Mineral Point concluded Sunday after three days of competition.
Four area cowgirls were part of the competition.
Reigning WHRA Quen Rylee Dressler, a Dodgeville cowgirl, led the parade of flags and brought out the US flag during opening ceremnies with the National Anthem being sung.
Dressler also competed in three events - pole bending, breakaway roping and cutting.
She placed 28th overall in pole bending with a 61.017 total, took 13th in breakaway roping with a time of 4.34 and was 4th in cutting at 137.5.
Mineral Point's Megan Walrack was 13th in pole bending at 49.930 as well as 12th in breakaway roping at 3.970.
Highland native Kate Hebgen, who attends Iowa-Grant High School, took 38th in pole bending with one only go-around and scoring 23.022. She was also 15th in breakaway roping with a 4.845 score.
Dodgeville second-year cowgirl Shawnee Judd placed 18th in pole bending with a score of 53.162.
