70 mph speed a decent idea

out west to Colorado. It was a wonderful trip, although the car ride was a
very long one on the way home.
It wasn't long into our drive through Iowa on the way there that Jamie became
frustrated with all the Iowa drivers. Going slow in the fast lane, speeding
up when we went to pass, etc. But it seemed as soon as he complained,
we reached the Interstate and were allowed to go 70 mph.
The closer we got to Colorado, the more the speed limit increased - first to
75 mph when we crossed into Nebraska and then 80 mph when we crossed
into Wyoming! We did not see a single accident and only a few police officers
were positioned alongside the road to catch speeders on the Interstate.
The Wisconsin State Legislature recently approved several highways to
increase speed from 65 mph to 70 mph. I was not sure if this would be a
good thing or not at first but after travelling on faster roadways, I think it is
a decent idea.
I drive U.S. 151 every day so it would have been nice to see that highway
get a speed limit bump. But we can't always have everything we want.
And we certainly can't change the ways of Iowa drivers either unfortunately.
