Cardinals take two in back to back shutouts

John Ross Linscheid took a no-hitter into the seventh as Highland turned back River Ridge 4-0 in a Six Rivers West game Tuesday.
Linscheid gave up the lone Timberwolves hit in the seventh but came back to toss the shutout. He fanned 10 and walked four in his gem.
Nate Robinson's two run shot in the fifth gave the Cardinals the cushion they needed. They took a 1-0 lead in the first then put up three in the fifth for their total.
Evan Rusch and Adam Wolfe had the other two rbis.
The Cards had seven hits. Besides Robinson's blast they got singles from Mitchell Welsh, Nate and Alex Michek, TJ Cool, Wolfe and Austin Yager. Yager singled to load the bases for Highland in the first then Rusch made it 1-0 with a sac fly.
Wolfe had the other rbi when his single plated TJ Cool in the fifth.
The win followed Monday night's 11-0 decision over Potosi for two shutouts in a row
Yager pitched the five inning win. He struck out nine, walked four and also gave up one hit.
Linscheid swung the big bat for the Cardinals with a 3x4 performance and five rbis. Wolfe was also hot at the plate with a 3x3 day and two rbis. Nate Michek had the same success with a 3x3 performance and an rbi. Yager doubled in a pair of runs.
Rusch had also had a hit to compete the 13 for Highland.
The wins kept the Cardinals undefeated for the season and in the SRW.
