PdC holds Dodgers scoreless
The Dodgers showed some grit early. With one out in the first Dylan Yoemans tripled and a hard grounder by Payton Hall was booted for a Blackhawk run. Before the inning ended they had loaded the bases but Dodgeville starter Jordan Larson worked out of it with a strikeout.
The score stayed that way until the fourth when three Dodgeville errors with two outs led to a five run explosion and a 6-0 Prairie lead.
Prairie added one more in the fifth when Hunter Sheckler reached on a fielders choice and scored on a single by Brian McNett.
Larson fanned two and walked two over 3 2/3 innings. He was touched for five runs, all unearned.
Brian Simmons finished the fourth and pitched the fifth. He gave up an earned run on three hits while striking out two and walking one.
Trent Jones fanned one as he faced three batters in the sixth.
The Dodgers' best chance to score was the fifth when they loaded the bases on a walk and hits by Levi Nagel and Jones. But they were unable to push a run across.
Nagel was 2x3 for the Dodgers while Jones, Larson and Caleb Grady had one hit each.
